The money from tickets sold for our production of Strikers! at Burton Town Hall last month has been handed over to the two town-based charities we are supporting through the Vale Rawlings Project CIC.

The final total we raised was £2,357.20, which means that YMCA Burton and SARAC have each received £1,178.60.

We were only able to raise this much thanks to our sponsors and supporters who helped us meet the essential costs of putting on the show for one night at Burton Town Hall.

Elaine said: "This is just the start of what we hope to raise for these two charities. In the coming year I will be writing a book about Vale and his life and times in Burton, which I am hopeful will be published at the end of the year. All profits from this will go to the two charities. I will also be giving talks about Vale and all speakers' fees will be donated to the fund.

"Along with Catherine and Paula I am exploring ways we might be able to show the film that was made of the performance of Strikers! to raise more funds and enable those who could not get tickets to see this slice of Burton history performed by a cast drawn from the local community."

Thank you to our sponsors and supporters who helped with cash donations and in-kind support:
